Tuesday, January 27, 2026 - 8:00 AM to
Thursday, January 29, 2026 - 12:00 PM
At the Wesley Center
2350 Methodist Parkway, Woodworth, LA 71485
Get ready for the third annual Louisiana Farmers Climate Convening at the Wesley Center in Woodworth, LA from January 27-29! It will be two and a half days of learning, sharing, and connecting with like-minded farmers and growers.
Dive into discussions about climate change and its impact on farming practices. Discover innovative strategies and techniques to adapt to the changing climate, and connect with other farmers about how climate change impacts you mentally, culturally, and economically. Gain valuable insights, exchange ideas, and forge new connections to help you navigate the challenges posed by climate change. We are so much stronger together!
This event is primarily for farmers and producers in Louisiana. Farmers and producers will receive priority for attendance, on-site lodging, and travel stipends.
Others who work in the agriculture sector (such as nonprofit workers or those employed at institutions such as Universities or Government offices) are welcome, but should be aware that you may be placed on a waitlist for attendance if we begin to reach capacity. Additionally, we ask that you provide your own lodging. If you are unsure if you qualify as a ‘Farmer’ or ‘Ag Professional/Service Provider’ please don’t hesitate to reach out to LSSAC as lssacpartners@gmail.com.

This year we will have the following types of on-site lodging available free of charge on a first-come first-served basis (first-come meaning from registration, not from arrival time at the venue):
Hotel-Style Lodgings
Some rooms contain 2 twins beds and 1 full-size bed. Other rooms contain 2 full-size beds. Each room contains a shared bathroom, with two sinks, one toilet, and one shower/tub combo.
Linens and towels are provided in these rooms.
Please avoid using provided towels to clean spills, make-up, or messes that could result in stains. Any stained linens will result in additional fees to LSSAC which hinders our future budgets for hosting events.
Bunk-House Lodgings
These bunk house lodgings are quite the upgrade from last year!
Split into two sides, each side contains:
22 twin-sized bunks. Each with their own power outlet.
A shared bathroom, with 2 sinks, 4 shower stalls, and 2 toilets.
The bunk house has a shared common area with a kitchenette and outdoor bonfire seating area.
Linens and towels are not provided in the bunk house. Please plan to bring towels, sheets, pillowcases, and blankets if you are assigned a bed in the bunkhouse.
This year we will not have camping/RV hookups available on-site, or private lodges available on-site.
If you would like to camp, the nearby Indian Creek Recreation Area is a 15 minute drive to the Wesley Center. LSSAC will not be able to reimburse costs associated with booking a campsite.
If you would like to stay in a hotel or other off-site lodging, Alexandria hosts many hotel options. The closest option being a 15-20 minute drive to the Wesley Center. LSSAC will not be able to reimburse costs associated with booking a hotel room.
-
As with prior years, we will have gas reimbursement gift cards available to attendees who drive to the convening.
The values of the gift cards are determined in tiers based on the length of drive to the venue.
The gift cards are not a reimbursement based on exact mileage.
Gas Reimbursement gift cards are provided on a first-come first-served basis. For this reason, we highly encourage carpooling.
If you would like to ride in a carpool, or if you would like to offer space in your vehicle for a carpool, please fill out the required information in the Registration Form linked above.
Carpool drivers do not receive additional support for gas reimbursements other than the existing gas reimbursement detailed above.
LSSAC is not responsible for hosting carpooling or ensuring a carpool is available. We will do our best to connect potential drivers with potential riders.

What kinds of programming will we see at Climate Convening this year?
A survey was sent out to our list serve in September to gather input from our community on what topics you would like to see covered at the event.
Using your input, our Programming Working Group is working hard to plan and select speakers for the many kinds of sessions we will be holding.
Check back here for more details as those sessions begin to take shape!
